OH CHRISTMAS TREE, OH CHRISTMAS TREE..

My blog seemed to be lacking any sort of festivity, so I thought I would take a few snaps of my favourite details from our Christmas tree. We tend to keep our tree fairly minimal and use red, green and wooden decorations, found in charity shops, on eBay or handmade by myself. I sewed the tartan and red corduroy stars last year but didn't really have time to make any more Christmassy things this year, as I focussed on launching my Etsy shop. Next year I plan to make lots of decorations and miniature versions of my products to sell on Midgins'. What are your favourite tree decorations?

PHOTOS

This year I decided to put more effort into printing photos. It disappoints me to think of the amount of special memories I've got stored on my computer which never get looked at. And it's also pretty scary to think how easily digital images can be lost or corrupted. Therefore I've decided to print more photos so I can appreciate them more and keep them forever! Plus a pretty photo album can look lovely on a bookshelf. This little beauty was from Homesense, one of my absolute favourite places to shop for home things. It's basically the home section from TKMaxx but much bigger and in it's very own store! This one only cost me about £6.99 and is a gorgeous mustard leather. We filled this album with our best photos from the Lake District, which we visited in September last year for our 5 year anniversary.
There are a few more holiday/ themed albums that I'm still desperate to get printed and organised, so hopefully I'll soon have a lovely pile of books to flick through whenever I fancy reminiscing..

Pinspiration #5

My boyfriend and I are hoping to move out together soon, so of course I have been pinning like crazy..
Here are just a few of my recent pins for home decor inspiration.

1. Sewing space. Of course I want to create a space for sewing in our home. I'm not expecting an entire room, but a small corner with enough room for a sewing machine, desk and storage would be ideal..

2. Decorative buttons. So cute and perfect for that sewing space ;)

3. Bunny door mat. Perfect for a bunny loving household.

4. Wendy house rabbit hutch. I'd really like to make a bigger house for Matilda. Something like this would be so cute!

5. Wooden headboard. Love this. Luckily for me, we have a carpenter in the family. (Thanks Dad).

6. Trolley. Love this storage trolley for the kitchen. Available in Ikea, and could easily be painted any colour you fancy.

7. Decorative logs. Love the idea of filling an awkward space with logs.

8. Film industrial bookends. In love with these bookends. Wish I had more books..

9. Polaroids. I'm a big fan of displaying personal photos around the home. I love how discreet these polaroids are, yet when you put lots together, it can make a lovely feature on the wall.

Semester One

I'm not even going to bother apologising for my lack of posts lately. I'm a terrible blogger, I know..
I recently moved back to Newport for my third and final year as a fashion design student and the work is rapidly piling up. It's a scary but exciting time and I'm looking forward to the huge sigh of relief at the end of it all. I will probably be posting photos of my work as it progresses but as usual, blogging will generally be kept to a minimum while I work my socks off.
I will leave you with these photos from my new flat. Me and my friend Lucy decided to get our own place this year after two years of living in halls (which were an absolute nightmare).. but we love our cosy new home! :)
