On our last day in London..

My final day in London last week was spent with Lucy, her Mum and her Grandma. We visited Covent Garden for delicious food and then had a wander around Camden. I have since moved out of my flat in Newport and I'm now spending my days at home, applying for jobs and playing the waiting game..

London and Lucy, I miss you.

Graduate Fashion Week Day 4

I can't believe Graduate Fashion Week is over so soon.. It has been a truly amazing week and I'm so proud to be graduating from the University of South Wales, NEWPORT. Here are a few photos of some of the impressive collections that appeared in the Gala & Awards Show. Unfortunately I didn't capture any good quality photos of the Newport collections that were featured but it was fantastic to see the work by Lucy Flint, Stacey Clement and Melissa Hancocks opening the show! Being part of the catwalk is a first for Newport and I'm really chuffed at what we have achieved and the recognition we have gained this year :)

I'm sad to be leaving London tomorrow but proud and excited for myself and all the Newport graduates. Well done and good luck everyone! Just the final farewell on Friday night to come now..

Graduate Fashion Week Day 3

Today has been a hugely successful day for the University of South Wales, Newport. The winner for the George childrenswear competition was finally announced and went to my buddy Lucy Flint! So proud of her for winning, she absolutely deserved it! Congratulations to Stacey Clement who was runner up and also well done Carrie Jones for your amazing print design. You all deserved a place as finalists :)

Newport also came second place in the award for Best Stand Design which we are all super proud of. Many thanks to Rachel Williams, our creative director, who came up with the design!

Other than all the excitement surrounding the awards, I watched the catwalk shows for De Montfort and Salford which were both very impressive. The Rimmel stand were also giving free make overs and manicures so some of us enjoyed having our nails painted. 

Tomorrow is the final day of GFW and ends with the Gala show to celebrate all the highlights and winners of the week and I'm lucky enough to go as Lucy's guest. I'm sure it will be an amazing end to the week. Pictures to follow :)

Graduate Fashion Week Day 2

Day two of Graduate Fashion Week was much more eventful than the first. I watched the International Show and the Liverpool Show (apologies for the lack of photos, it was difficult to get good quality images on my phone). Our stand had some interest from Abercrombie & Fitch, who I now have an interview with on Wednesday! The winner of the George traveller competition was announced and Melissa Hancocks, a second year Newport student, was runner up and will therefore be showing her collection in the gala show on the final night. Today the winner of the George childrenswear competition will be announced, four of the six finalists being from Newport! Good luck guys! :)

Graduate Fashion Week Day 1 - Newport /13

This week I'm living in London for GFW. For those who aren't familiar with the event, Graduate Fashion Week is held every June in Earls Court to showcase fashion graduates work and provide opportunities for employment. These are photos from our stand and my pages in the lookbook from the University of South Wales, Newport. It was really rewarding to finally see everything come together after so much hard work! Hopefully some exciting opportunities will come from this week so I'm looking forward to the next few days.
