WEEKEND IN DARTMOOR

Last weekend me and George took a short break down to Dartmoor, in the South West of England, with his family for a couple of relaxing days in the countryside. We stayed in a very remote and peaceful area right in the middle of the national park, went on a few scenic walks and generally just relaxed in the cottage. It was nice to just have a proper little break away from home and work, since me and George haven't been on holiday for about a year and half. These are just a few of my favourite photos from the weekend. There's not an awful lot more to say. I think the photos pretty much do the talking!

Do you enjoy the calm, easygoing surroundings of the countryside or do you prefer the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced city? If I'm perfectly honest, I absolutely love a bit of both!

The Lake District - Part 2

Posting the rest of my holiday photos, a month after we went.. I seriously struggle to blog regularly while working full time!

So the second half of our week included trips to the Lake District Wildlife Park and the Lakes Aquarium. We are big animal lovers and always search for nearby zoos and parks to visit when deciding a place to go on holiday. Both of these attractions were small and wouldn't fill an entire day, however they are definitely worth visiting if you are in the area for a few hours.
The highlight of the Wildlife Park (and perhaps our whole holiday?!) was the lemur encounter. Unfortunately I don't have any photos to show, but we basically went into the lemur enclosure with bowls of food and had the little cuties climb all over us, munching away, right in our faces, for a whole hour. It was too good to put into words.. and we would pay to do it again in an instant. Not a bad way to spend the day of our anniversary!
The last few photos are from another walk. I actually love how dark and gloomy they came out. It was a dull and rainy day weather wise, but it still looked absolutely beautiful :)

I hope you enjoyed these holiday posts!

The Lake District - Part 1

At the end of September my boyfriend and I took a holiday to the Lake District for our 5th anniversary.. (yep, 5 years together!) We felt this milestone was worthy of a celebratory, relaxing holiday and this was the perfect place to go. Neither of us have been before, but we are so glad we chose it. We stayed in a lovely wooden lodge, complete with hot tub, in a tiny village in the middle of the countryside. We spent most of our days exploring the beautiful surrounding areas and came home to a soak in the tub and a glass of wine. Who could ask for more?

This is a two part post, so look out for the second batch of photos :)
